Students in the Multimedia Journalism class, taught by Assistant Professor Jodie Gil, worked with the New Haven Independent in Spring 2015 to profile small businesses in the New Haven area. Several stories, incorporating photos, video and audio reporting, ran in the New Haven Independent and Valley Independent Sentinel throughout the semester.
The students profiled a four-generation hat seller, a donut shop, a health app developer, a pizza shop, a small gift shop regrouping after the owner’s death, and a custom cabinetry manufacturer.
